Racial Justice & Equity, Community Engagement | Consultant | Facilitator | Trainer |

Founder of NOXTIN: Equal Justice for All.

I build safe spaces to increase the restoration of balance while healing the divides, uplifting culture and inter-connectedness among communities, systems, and philanthropy.

Racial Equity & Healing

As the founder/principal consultant of NOXTIN: Equal Justice for All, I pair healing centered practices & racial equity work to strengthen youth justice systems transformation. Incorporating healing centered racial equity work among youth justice systems stakeholders, Chicanx/Latinx/Indigenous & communities to advance systems transformation as central to ending incarceration of youth of color.

Community Engagement & Leadership Development

I assist returning citizens, formerly system impacted youth, in strengthening their personal & professional leadership to engage in policy change to end the use of incarceration and transform the youth justice system. My curriculum “Ollin (movement) Girls-LGBTQ” is for the collective leadership development of returning citizens, formerly system impacted girls-LGBTQ, youth, parents and community members, to engage & advocate youth justice transformation from a healing & culturally centered leadership approach.

Movement Building

As director of the National Alianza for Latinx Youth Justice (ALYJ), I use healing centered racial equity strategies in building movement with a call to action & engagement for the transformation of the youth justice systems towards a focus on decreasing to end the use of detention for Chicanx/Latinx/Indigenous youth. As technical assistance working with Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) from the Annie E Casey Foundation (AECF), I gained extensive experience across the country at a state and local level with diverse communities, formerly system affected youth & youth justice system stakeholders in JDAI sites, to co-create solutions in their collaboratives to change policies & develop community-based alternatives to detention.

National State & Local Leadership

As director for ALYJ, I manage & guide the development of a national platform. As principal consultant for NOXTIN, I provide national & state leadership to bridge youth justice transformation with a healing centered approach. I provide consultation for the National Girls Initiative, the California Endowment, the AECF JDAI & the Burns Institute (BI). As previous site manager at the BI, I took the lead of a Native American portfolio to establish the first tribal nation JDAI site in the country & provided consultation for two new tribal JDAI sites. Invited by Judge Lucero, as a local volunteer, I serve on the Santa Clara County Gender Responsive Task Force with a goal to end incarceration for girls-LGBTQ, an initiative of the Vera Institute.
